Start Your Own Blog

Faster Than the WordPress 5 Minute Install!
. . . And easier too!
Everyone has a blog these days and more are being created every day. The problem for most people that want to start their own blog is getting it up and running on the internet. Some people think starting
their own blog is too technical.
Starting your own blog should be easy, or so you think. Well it is easy to start your own blog, a lot easier than you think.
. . . I’ll even show you how.
I’m going to assume that you already have an idea or niche’ for your own blog.
If you need to get a domain name (www.yourblog.com), then I suggest that you CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR BLUEHOST.COM NOW. Bluehost in my opinion has the best hosting package there is.
Now that you have a domain name and web host you’re ready to go just follow these simple instructions.
Login to your Bluehost cPanel
Use the login username and password you created when you started your Bluehost account. You will then see a screen that looks like this.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see this box and click on the “Simple Scripts” icon. Its under Software/Services.
This will bring you to the scripts list page. There are several options here, three are for blogs. We are going to install a WordPress blog so click on the WordPress icon under the heading “Blogs”
Choose theWordPress icon and click.
The next page will give you a short description of what the WordPress blogging software is and why it is so great. Also shown here is the latest software version and some screen shots of what WordPress looks like from the back and the front. That is the control panel where you write your posts and what your blog will look like at the start before you make any changes.
(You will probably want to make some changes right from the start and I can show you some of that in another post.)
There are also some links here to Worpress.org that can help you to learn more about what WordPress can do for you and your blogging experience.
Click on the “Install Now” button.
General Configuration
Fill in the form below to set the general configuration of your blog.
What version of WordPress would you like to install?
I recommend you stay with the latest stable version of WordPress. One cool thing about WordPress; when a new update is available for anything you are using on your blog you get notified and can even update right from your user interface.
Where would you like WordPress installed?
Are you going to have your blog be the main part of your website? If the answer is yes then leave the second box blank. (If your blog is going to be a part of another site then put in the name of the folder you would like WordPress to be installed in.)
Additional Options
Please give your site a name.
This is pretty self explanatory. If you have been thinking of starting a blog for any time at all I am sure that you know what you’re going to name it.One thing Ishould say though, Keywords, related to your blog subject, is good for SEO. Click Here to read more about Search Engine Optimization.
Advanced Configuration
Please put a check in both of these boxes as they are very important to the proper installation of your Worpress Blog.
Legal Information
You must put a check in both of these boxes.
Click on the “Complete” button
For a short time you will see this box indication the progress of the WordPress installation.
Congradulations!
You will be redirected to this page indicating the successful WordPress installation. Also you will see a link to the administration area of your site, your default username and a generated password. After you log in you can go to the settings area and change the password or add another username and password. (Keep your user name and password safe.)
This is by far the easiest way to install a WordPress blog. In further post I will show you how to wordpress themes customize your blog by changing the theme to a look and feel that will appeal to your visitors, and I will show you how to ad more functionality to your blog by using wordpress plugins.
You have now installed your WordPress blog.
